GOVERNOR ABDULRAHMAN ABDULRAZAQ: A PLACE IN HISTORY.

 Events of the past few weeks/months in our dear State require that one takes a cursory look at things hence we will make the unforgivable mistake of standing truth on its logical head, muddle facts while in the process twist history. It is for this and many other reasons that yours truly has decided to chronicle some happenings which confer on our amiable GAA a place of pride in the history of our dear State.

Many have the erroneous belief that the O to ge revolution which came in the form of a political tsunami that saw the immediate past government being swept out of office started in 2018 and GAA was just a beneficiary who did not take part in the struggle. On the contrary, the popular O to ge revolution from facts available predated 2018 as we were all living witnesses to the  prominent and pivotal roles which the likes of late General Abdul Kareem Adisa,late Governor Muhammed  Alabi Lawal and many others played in this ethical revolution  even before 2018 which eventually served as its crowing moment and silent monetary and personal contributions which GAA made even at the formative stage of the revolution which eventually saw our dear State being liberated from the shackles of political oppression and under development which most of those who now throw dirt at GAA actively participated in at the period.

When GAA emerged the APC Party flag bearer in his first term in office and he was advised to meet other contestants to seek peace , mend fences and build bridges which he dutifully obliged, I believe that such gesture clearly defines who Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq really is --a humble, accommodating and large hearted statesman and party loyalist.

GAA an oppressor and dictator! Please where is that coming from if I may ask? Is it not the GAA who goes about his official business of governance in a very humble, quiet and unassuming manner without his official convoy blaring sirens while some of his accusers who hold no known political office go about town in siren blowing convoys?

Is it not the same GAA who after his emergence as party flag bearer made peace with all the opponents who contested the same ticket with him and most if not all them including those presently painting him black having candidates who were considered for political appointments and who are presently holding key positions in his administration either as cabinet members, Board Chairmen/members,  TIC Chairmen/members and even serving members of the State Legislature?

Is not the same GAA who in his determination to build bridges,  mend fences decided to reach out to prominent politicians after winning his re- election as the Executive Governor of Nigeria's State of Harmony to the effect that one of such interface with the highly respected erudite Professor of English and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin , Professor Oba Abu is today a part of his progressive and purpose driven administration?

Is it not the same GAA that all our highly revered and respected Royal fathers in a unanimous voice described as humble, well brought up, well behaved,unassuming, accommodating, visionary and patriotic leader and Stateman?

Is it not the same GAA in who the majority of Kwarans through the ballot box reaffirmed their confidence, loyalty and  trust thereby rewarding him with their votes for promises kept, a huge political statement which saw him being re-elected for a second term in office?

Is it not the same GAA under whose administration the son of a nobody can become somebody without knowing any body even with some of them holding key political offices in his government today?

Is it not the same GAA who through his people oriented and purpose driven government has opened up a floodgate of opportunities for our teeming youths to have quality education and are now being gainfully employed, opening them up to a bright future,  a giant move which the generality of Kwarans have continued to applaud and appreciate him for putting KWARA FIRST in all his actions and utterances? For all these, it is my considered opinion and belief that when the chips are finally down history will be kind to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq CON for making such an indelible mark in our State's march to progress,economic emancipation/ stability, infrastructural development,  peace and harmony. To God be the glory.
