2023 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (IDPD) : HON. COMRADE LUKMAN OLUKAYODE AHMED SALUTE THE COURAGE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN NIGERIA.

... APPLAUD GOVERNOR ABDULRAHMAN ABDULRAZAQ (CON) FOR INCLUSIVENESS OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES IN DECISION MAKING IN HIS GOVERNMENT.


The immediate Past Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation Kwara Central to Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Comrade Lukman Olukayode Ahmed has send his greetings to all the people living with Disabilities in the Country as they have been celebrated today all over the World.

This year, 2023 theme:

"United in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs for, with and by persons with disabilities"* 

*It focuses on the collective efforts needed to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a way that includes and empowers individuals with disabilities.
It emphasizes the importance of collaboration and solidarity to ensure that individuals with disabilities are left behind in 17 goals established by the United Nations to tackle global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change.

The theme recognizes that persons with disabilities often face additional barriers in accessing education, healthcare, employment, and other essential services.
By being united in action, including governments, organizations, communities, and individuals, need to work together to create inclusive policies, programs, and environments that cater to the specific needs and rights of persons with disabilities.

This requires promoting their active participation, ensuring their voices are heard, and including them in decision-making processes concept of rescue, which implies the urgent need to address the immediate challenges faced by persons with disabilities, especially or emergencies.

This includes ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to essential services in such situations.
Overall, the theme emphasizes the importance of collective action, inclusivity, and empowerment to effectively address the SDGs for, with, and by persons with disabilities.

Hon. Comrade Lukman Olukayode Ahmed also applauded his principal, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, the Governor of Kwara State for his efforts towards the people living with Disabilities in the State and also their inclusiveness of them in the decision making in his administration. He said.
