THERE WILL BE NATIONAL SOCIAL REGISTER VALIDATION AND EXPANSION IN KOGI STATE.

There has been controversy about the credibility of the National Social Register (NSR) among stakeholders in Nigeria amidst the removal of fuel subsidy mitigation efforts. However the NSR is the aggregation of the State Social Register (SSR). 

In the bid to put the record straight and  to ascertain the reliability and credibility of the NSR as the through representation of the supposedly poor and vulnerable Nigerian, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian, disaster management and poverty alleviation has appointed a consultant (New Planet Project Ltd) to undertake immediate verification and data expansion within two weeks across states in Nigeria and FCT. 

In the light of the above therefore, I wish to inform you of the presence of the consultant in the state for the exercise. The consultant is expected to work directly with the state government through the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic planning and state operations coordinating unit (SOCU).

We are therefore soliciting for the maximum cooperation of the stakeholders, security agencies, the local government authorities and traditional rulers for a hitch-free exercise. The data matching and validation has since commenced at the SOCU office. 

Our Enumerators for the verification and data expansion shall be deployed to various communities in the 21 local government effective 9th October 2023. 

Kogi State is poised to deliver on the assignment as quick as possible to enable the federal government ablely led by  President Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu commence payment of palliative using the SR and possibly avert the looming NLC strick action. 

The Kogi State government is therefore soliciting the cooperation of all for the success of the assignment.
