10TH NASS: HON. COMRADE LUKMAN OLUKAYODE AHMED FELICITATES WITH SEN. AKPABIO, RT. HON. ABASS AS THEY TAKE OVER THE SADDLE AS SENATE PRESIDENT, SPEAKER RESPECTIVELY.

The former special assistant to the Governor of Kwara State on Poverty Alleviation Kwara Central, Hon. Comrade Lukman Olukayode Ahmed has felicitated with the new Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker of the house of representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass.

Hon. Comrade Lukman Olukayode Ahmed in his press released to the pressmen in Ilorin State capital, said this is a new leadership that will pilot the affairs of the 10th National Assembly (NASS) for the next four years has emerged with the preferred candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) cliching the two exalted seats- Senate President and Speaker of the House of representatives.
He said, Senator Godswill Akpabio emerged as the Senate President on Tuesday, 13th, June, 2023 , having garnered a total of 63 votes to defeat his rival, Sen. AbdulAzeez Yari who got 46 votes.

The Senator-Elect representing Kano South Senatorial district, Hon. Jibrin Barau emerged as the Deputy Senate President, unopposed

For the House of representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass emerged as the Speaker having polled a total of 353 votes out of the 359 votes that were cast.
The former special aides to the Governor said, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, a member of the House of representatives, representing Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State emerged as the Deputy Speaker, unopposed

Hon. Comrade Lukman Olukayode Ahmed said that with the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly (NASS), Nigerians are hopeful of a synergy between the Executive and Legislature to deliver the dividends of Democracy to them
I urge them to sustain the same level of enthusiasm they brought to the leadership contest in the discharge of their duties to their constituents and Nigeria
