MEET THE NEW MUTTAWALLI OF ILORIN EMIRATES

His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulkarnaini Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin on Thursday July, 22nd, 2021 announced
Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq, the new Muttawalli of Ilorin ---- the traditional tittle of the patriarch of the AbdulRazaq family and the first Lawyer in the Northern region of Nigeria, Late Alhaji A.G.F AbdulRazaq SAN, OFR.

The New Muttawalli of Ilorin, Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq is a highly experienced and respected lawyer of over 42 years post-call experience.

He is the sole partner of A. AbdulRazaq (SAN) & Co. Born in Zaria, Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq attended Capital School, Kaduna and St. Gregory's College Ikoyi Lagos State. He is a graduate of Law from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Nigeria and holds an LLM and Ph.D degrees from the University of Hull, UK

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria and an elected member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, London.

Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq is on the Board of First Bank Holdings as a Non-Exeutive Director and he holds several other Board memberships.

He has served the nation in several capacities as Commissioner, Legal Licensing and Enforcement with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC); Chairman, National Iron Ore Mining Company Itakpe, and Member National Council on Privatisation.

Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq has attended Executive leadership programs at Harvard Business School, University of Florida, Georgetown University and the Lagos Business School.

The New Muttawalli is a member of the International Bar Association and the Nigerian Bar Association respectively.

He is a Founder and Chairman of Bridge House College Ikoyi, Lagos State. He is the Pioneer recipient of the Alumni Laurette Award of the University of Hull for legal scholarship and educational endowments.

Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq is a philanthropist and sponsor of many charitable initiatives.
He is a Patron of Gamji Foundation, Kwara State.

As the first son of a great legal luminary, he has other respected siblings. They are as follow:

Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq is happily married with Good Children to Mrs Foluke Kafayat AbdulRazaq fondly called "FKA".

She is a reputed and respected woman in a Society, She is the Group Vice Chairman of Transcorp Nigeria and member of Governing Board of Lagos State University (LASU) and the first female Commissioner of Finance, Lagos State.


The New Muttawalli of Ilorin, Dr Muhammad Alimi AbdulRazaq is a gentle man to the core, an astute politician, an administrator per excellence, and an icon worthy of emulation.

He has brought smile and happiness to many households in his family, community, Kwara State and Nigeria in general.

I pray to Almighty Allah to continue to strengthen him more, increase him in knowledge and wisdom to be able to pilot the task ahead of him in life.
